ESPN.com - MLB - Padres deal starter Lawrence to Nats for Castilla

When will MLB executives learn that any numbers earned in Colorado can't be trusted? It seems that the Padres' GM is under the misconception that his new acquisition, Vinny Castilla, will be able to provide power in PetCo park. Castilla very well could provide power in PetCo park...if it was located in Colorado, not if it stays in its current location of beautiful San Diego. So unless the Padres are moving to the Rocky mountains, this was a pathetic trade. In addition, they dealt a decent to average starting pitcher for an over the hill third baseman with limited range, in an off-season that is going to be sorely lacking in pitching. What happens when in January, someone is able to land a Corey Koskie for a decent starting pitcher and a prospect? How much worse will this Castilla acquisition look then?
